Beck's FIrst Talk
Last week, Beck was assigned to speak the next week in primary. He gave a talk to that would've been impressive for some youth speakers thanks to his Dad, the English major.
Beck was so excited to be sitting up front. He waved to us all as we came to listen to his talk. He pressed his mouth right up against the microphone the entire time making the sound quality poor, but he repeated the words well and didn't look nervous.
The icing on top of the cake however was when he finished the talk to go back to his seat. He tripped and fell. Crumbled like a cracker. It was all I could do to not laugh out loud. I always fear that something like that would happen to me while in front of people. He was fine, just being goofy and not watching where he was walking and he didn't seem to mind he fell in front of everyone either.
It breaks my heart a bit to realize how big he is getting.

My Birthday!!
I must back track a little now.... as of May 2nd I am offically on the downhill side of 30. This depresses me greatly. However Randy planned a fun and amazing day for us!
He downloaded Disney's Birthday Song It was playing on repeat for me to wake up to
I woke up my kids early because I had to make a stop at the DMV. I spaced that my driver's license expired that day until the day before. Beck jumped right out of bed because he knew it was my birthday and if you've ever tried to wake Beck up you know what a birthday miracle it is.
The DMV went smoothly. I was in and out in 10 minutes. The hardest part was manuvering my stroller through their crazy lines. Yes my stroller is huge we call it the "stretch limo" Plus there wasn't a handicaped button to open the doors which made things more difficult. I'm a little curious how they get away with that.
I went and had my car cleaned and went home and watched Tangled with my boys. Randy only had to work a half day which was nice. He brought lunch home along with balloons, cake and presents! Trey felt that all the balloons should be his
We made Trey leave the balloons to go play in Salt Lake. He cried all the way to American Fork. We went and got my swimsuit, shopped at Gateway and went and ate at Cheesecake Factory. Oh how I love the popcorn shrimp there. I could eat it everyday
On the Friday before my birthday I told Randy what cake I would like. It is The Husband cake from The Chocolate. I have always wanted to try it and I figured I better tell him because Randy doesn't always plan in advance. Little did I know he knew I wanted a cake from The Chocolate and he picked that one out for me over a week before! It was the best cake ever!!
All in all it was a fantastic day!

Happy Mother's Day!
I had a wonderful mother's day! Randy made a great breakfast for us, bathed the kids and got them ready for church. I was able to sit on the couch and do nothing. It was amazing!
At church the primary got up and sang. I was on the verge of loosing it the whole time Beck was up there. It was so adorable. I was so close to whipping out my phone and recording it. My boys made me these beautiful treasures at church

No one ever spells Trey's name right. Poor Trey.
After church we went over to my Mother-in-law's for dinner and a little later we headed over to see my mom.
I am so greatful for all the wonderful mother's out there that have had an impact on my life and helped me to become the person I am today! I am so proud to be the mama of my three beautiful boys!

Drive In!!!
Words cannot express our love of the drive in. Randy and I actually get to see movies in the summer and the kids have a blast playing in the back of the car. Plus how can you beat 2 movies for cheaper than 1 movie at the regular theater? Plus my kids are free! I think we will be spending most Friday nights here.
On Friday we went and saw Rio and Diary of a Wimpy Kid 2. Rio was great and Diary of a Wimpy Kid was hillarious! We haven't seen the first one, so now we need to find it! I took this picture during the preview and I just happened to get a nice shot of all the smurfs.
There are lots of movies I'm excited for this summer like Kung Fu Panda 2 and Cars 2, but one I am really looking forward to is Mr Popper's Penguins. I didn't even know they were making this until I saw the preview at the drive in. I loved that book when I was little. I think I need to go dig it out and read it again.

The Lost Sippy Cup
I spent about an hour looking for one of the kids' sippy cups this morning.
My kids looked at me like I was crazy when I was astonished to find it here. Why wouldn't it be in my boot?

Against the Grain
I am not a morning person! This being said I have made it my goal to make sure none of my children are morning people, until now.
Beck was born a night owl. I went into labor the night before I was scheduled to be enduced. He wouldn't sleep through the night until he was almost 18 months and I believe it was because he felt the need to be awake doing something fun. The problem now is he has already entered teenage phase and will sleep all day if we let him.
Tate and Trey were not originally night owls. They had to be trained. Over the last week, Trey thinks that waking up at 5am is a great idea. He then wants to take a nap at 10am instead of waking up at 8am and taking a nap at 1pm.
Tate doesn't get up until around 7am now. He likes to sleep, like Beck, but Trey gets the best of him and gets him up after two hours of yelling and throwing stuffed animals at him.
It would be one thing if Trey just played happily in his room, but sadly he can climb out of his crib. He comes and gets me. He is happy sitting in our bed for about 10 minutes but then he is ready to play. If he isn't played with he gets into all sorts of trouble.
Thankfully yesterday was Mother's Day and he was without a nap due to church and Mother's Day festivities. However he still only slept till 6:30am.
Even though I have been going to bed earlier to compensate for waking up earlier, I still find myself grogy and disconnected the whole day. I am convinced I am not genetically able to wake up early and be productive day in and day out. I'm hoping this is a phase that will end quickly and he will go back to the way things were.

The Park
I cannot express how happy I am that the weather is warmer and it has finally stopped raining or snowing long enough for us to get outside! Tuesday my mom and I took the kids to the park. This is a two person job because the twins are CRAZY!!
I love how different Tate and Trey's personalities are when it comes to playing at the park.Tate is insane. He immediately goes for the tallest slide and has no fear of anything. Trey is timid and is scared to walk on the park equipment let alone go down a slide. Trey, however, was so excited to be there he followed Tate to the top of the tallest slide, started to go down, realized where he was, stopped, started screaming and wouldn't budge. So I got to be "one of those moms" that look so awkward going down a slide with their kid.
As our time at the park went on he finally found a slide he liked.
Trey will only go down a slide face first. So I had to catch him at the bottom every time so he didn't end up with a mouth full of wood chips (which sadly did happen once).
Wednesday night Randy and I took the kids to the park again and just when I thought it couldn't get crazier it did. Tate can now climb the ladders that take you to the tall part. They can climb up slides, if I let them get that far.And they learned how to hang on the bars.
Tate can hold himself up for minutes at a time. Randy put him on the monkey bars to see how long he could keep himself up there. Randy's arms got tired waiting for him to fall. It was unbelievable. The second he fell he wanted to do it again. I want to time him next time!
Trey can support himself good. He is better than Beck was at his age, but not as good as Tate. He didn't like the monkey bar idea. It was too high up for his liking, but he loved swinging on the little bar. After he was done hanging he would clap for himself. It was adorable.
One of the other kids at the park was climbing on top of the tube slides, so Tate decided to try. We stopped him quickly, but I don't doubt that he could have made it up there. I guess that's what is next.
I love the idea of taking the kids to the park, but I don't know if my heart can handle too much of it this summer. The anxiety of what the twins will do next might just kill me!

If you didn't love the IRS already...
I'm having a hard time finding motivation to work today, because today I am supposed to be filling out rediculous forms for the IRS and sending them letters showing their errors. One of the companies I do bookkeeping for underwent a name change. We closed the old corporation and opened under a new one. This happened in September of 2009.
For the last six months I have been receiving letter after letter from the IRS stating I have not filed my quarterly paperwork on time for the corporation that closed. I have sent them copies of the original forms I have already sent showing the corporation closed on such and such date in September. I have called them countless times explaining to them it is closed only to be told to fill out a form or write a letter, all of which I have done.
Today I decided to try calling them once more. I used the number on the form under Additional Information. Next to the phone number it says "If you need assistance, please don't hesitate to contact us." I call the phone number. After going through a mind numbing amount of automated messages, pushing the number 3 in about seven different menus and sitting on hold for 36 minutes I was connected to an actual person. I explained once again what was happening. She then informed me she was not able to help me with my problem at this number. Before I could get a word in she transferred me back to the main menu.
I started the whole process over. I went through all the menus, sat on hold, it started to ring and instantly I was back at the main menu. I never heard a humans voice just the automated message again welcoming me to the Internal Revenue Service.
By this point I am loosing my mind. I have dedicated over an hour to this en devour. I hang up. Dial again. I do all the previously listed steps and again I am transferred right back to the main menu.
So after almost two solid hours trying to contact the IRS I am officially throwing in the towel for the sake of my sanity. The forms are going to the bottom of my stack of papers labeled "To Do" so they can be dug up on a later date.

It's a bird, it's a plane no it's.....
BUZZ LIGHTYEAR! Everytime Beck sees a jet steam in the sky he gets so excited because it's Buzz Lightyear out for a spin. I love that he thinks Buzz is really out there flying around.
